You may have seen the recent press coverage on the debate about lack of regulation in the non-surgical cosmetic sector. On 13th Feb 2019, a parliamentary debate was led by Alberto Costa (South Leicestershire MP) and concluded with the Under-Secretary of State for Health and Social Care making specific reference to the work of JCCP and its registers and stating that “The Government have acted to improve the regulation and registration of those performing cosmetic interventions, but we clearly need to make much more rapid and substantial progress if we are to protect consumers properly”.
